Captain Virat Kohli again became the number one batsman in the ICC Test rankings. He left behind former Australian captain Steve Smith Kohli made a record after the Nottingham Test. He became the first captain of the world to score 7 runs in the Test by scoring 200 runs in the Test. Kohli went ahead of Australia's Don Bradman and Ricky Ponting in this case. Bradman and Potten had won the team by scoring more than 200 runs 6 times while captaining the Test.
