America: 21 Indian prisoners for 20 years in jail for cheating crores through fraudulent call centers
The 21 Indians living in the US have been sentenced to 4 years to 20 years in the case of cheating crores of rupees through fraudulent call centers. The convicted Indians will be sent to India after the completion of the sentence. The call centers were operating from India and 21 people convicted in the US were part of this racket and lived in the US. There were branches in different cities of India as well as call centers. Through this, more than Rs. 250 crores have been hacked by 11 thousand Americans.
Indian employees of call centers used to catch people by speaking American English. They used to get information about Americans who did not pay taxes Later he used to call himself as an officer of the American Revenue Service. He used to ask them to pay in dollars. On the non-payment, they used to threaten arrest or fines. Most of the elderly were targeted at them. To avoid the action, the Americans agreed to give up to 60 thousand dollars (about Rs 41 lakh).
According to the police, the racket operators rewarded one lakh rupees every month, according to the police, the Indian call center staffer who was successful in making money from the American people. After the disclosure of this case in the US, raid was carried out in Pune, Noida and Gurgaon in India. Three from Pune, four from Gurgaon and one person from Nayeda were arrested.
