Data from those who apply for passport from mobile can not be fully protected, in any fraudulent way.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday said the M passport service app in the Rajya Sabha is completely safe. He said that as soon as someone applies for a passport from a mobile app, his data gets deleted from the mobile phone and the app.
Two FEATURES FOR SECURITY: Sushma Swaraj informed that M Passport has given two features for data security in the passport service. First of all, as soon as the passport application process is completed and the data of the applications will be accessed in the Data Receiving Center (DRC), the data will be deleted from the mobile phone and the app.
On the other hand, the second feature prevents the creation of a fake passport. He told that if someone applies from a cyber cafe to a fake passport with the information of another person, then he will be identified and that data will not come in the DRAC. This means that no person will be able to apply for a fake passport with any other person's information.
More than 67,000 applications came in three weeks: Sushma Swaraj said that the M Passport Seva App was started on June 26 and within three weeks, more than 67 thousand 500 people have applied for passport through this app.
- He informed that those applying from this app are getting appointment in 19 passport service centers of the country the next day. He said that more than these passports have been issued.
The app was launched in July 2013: The M Passport Service Mobile app was launched on July 11, 2013 but this app was launched again on June 26th. Along with the launch of this app, changes were also made in passport rules.
According to the new rules, now it is not necessary to give marriage certificate to men and women when applying passport. Simultaneously, birthdays written on documents such as Aadhaar card, driving license, will be accepted only, for this no separate berth certificate will be required as well.
