To stop Fake News, start testing Whatsapp for new features, message will be forwarded to just 5 users at a time
After the stance of the Central Government on Fake News and Rumors, Whatsapp has begun testing new features. Whatsapp said in a blog post on Friday that any message, photo or video will be forwarded to only 5 users or 5 chat groups at a time when it comes to this feature. There is also a proposal to remove the forward button from the messaging app. There is no restriction on the number of messages forwarded so far.
The new tool will be used in this assembly elections: Whatsapp will use its Fake News Verification Tool 'Verificado' in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram assembly elections to be held later this year. After this, it will also be used in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections so that the impact of Fake News on voting is not affected.
Used in Mexico: Use of this tool of Whatsapp was done in the general elections held in Mexico in June. Under this, the message is scanned by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and its fact is checked. If a fault appears in the factory then it is filtered and removed from the platform.
